IT Strategy – Related Certifications
A very critical guideline when working in this area is that of standardized knowledge. Whether industry or functional area, a great way to gain knowledge is from Certifications. Certifications show that you have a standard level of understanding or expertise in an area which will help you on the job or even help you land your next.
While Strategy is typically identified via research and business goals, I believe the PMP Certification is one that can give an individual skills to ensure Projects align with Strategy and that things are delivered on schedule and budget.

If you’re an experienced project manager responsible for all aspects of project delivery, leading and directing cross-functional teams, then the PMP is the right choice for you.
Gain and Maintain Your PMP[1]
- The certification exam has 200 multiple-choice questions, and you have four hours to complete it.
- To maintain your PMP, you must earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) every three years.

- Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
- 7,500 hours leading and directing projects
- 35 hours of project management education
