IT Governance – Suggested Resources

IT Governance – Suggested Resources

While Certifications may show that you know how to perform your role, I find there is great value in continued learning and research. Technology is ever changing and I believe one of the most important guidelines is research, as it will allow one to see where the industry is going, and identify where their organization or they themselves as a IT Professional need to move towards.

Below are some resources that I believe may be of value in accomplishing research:

  • IT Governance: Policies & Procedures by Michael Wallace  & Larry Webber
This is another practical guide that can be used as reference for establishing IT Policy and for IT Governance as it may be a governing body that is tasked with the establishment of Policy.
  • The Phoenix Project by Gene Kim
This is a book written as a fictional story, that is a must read for any individual or organization looking to adopt the ‘DevOPS’ ideology. This can provide things to consider for any governance activities related to the delivery of software in an organization.
  • The IT Governance Podcast
Is its name implies this is a podcast by the IT Governance Blog that tackles various IT Governance topics and associated recent events. This can provide IT Professionals knowledge about things going on outside of their organization so they are aware to what the Industry is dealing with or headed towards.
